Pour it up, drink it down!

Sometimes, after a long week, you don’t want the hubbub of nightclubs and bottle service; all you want is a good, stiff drink. This week, let us be your designated driver en route to some tried and true, as well as unique bars around town that promise to quench your thirst – but please, read responsibly.

5 Points Tiki Lounge (Fort Lauderdale)
Marqus R has “never seen a place like this!” A combination of a Tiki bar, tattoo shop, barbershop, vintage-style boutique, and an art gallery – and somehow, they go together, all while serving up over 55 beers, hard ciders, and wines.

Kim’s Alley Bar (Fort Lauderdale)
Even when the “city is flooded with tourists,” Morganne Z can step into this friendly little dive, or the “Cheers of Fort Lauderdale. Bartenders remember your drink,” and you can get your game on with “pool tables, darts, or ping pong tables.” Bring your A game for ping pong, though; the regulars bring their own paddles and it can get pretty competitive.

Kevro’s Art Bar (Delray Beach)
If you need a creative spark with your firewater, as well as a great crowd, this is your new favorite spot. Natasha C enjoys the “no-rockstars atmosphere” for a “random night out.” Literally ‘a compound’, it includes an art gallery, full bar, photography studio, and outdoor painting patio.

McSorley’s (Fort Lauderdale)
Literally across from the beach, Tanya L can feel the breeze as she sips her drink. With three floors you can kick it at the Beach Pub downstairs, the second floor game room or the upstairs lounge with great views of the ocean. Fridays they have an “all you can drink” special from 8-10pm for $20.

The Funky Buddha
(Boca Raton)

If you are looking for a “local craft brewery to call your own” then look no further! At last count they serve over 110 beers. Not sure what to get? Try the five-beer sampler. Michael J is all about the home team and advises you “support your local brewer and drink local.” They even brew on-site!
