Meet GP, a nine-year-old boy with Systemic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (SJIA). GP was diagnosed at age 3 and nearly died from complications of his SJIA in February of 2019. To learn more about SJIA and the complications associated with it, click the SJIA tab.
Despite the physical challenges posed by GP’s condition, he actively participates in various scholastic and athletic activities. While GP often showcases his athletic ability, his unwavering spirit and kindness towards his coaches, peers and teammates is always present. GP’s participation reflects his belief to embrace life fully regardless of one’s personal challenges!
In addition to his participation in multiple sports, GP has become a beacon of kindness and positivity within his school. His infectious enthusiasm for life encourages those around him to adopt a more optimistic outlook and to always lend a helping hand to others in need.
Through public speaking engagements, fundraising events, and social media campaigns, GP actively advocates for those living with SJIA. By sharing his own journey and experiences, he has made a tangible impact on others facing similar situations.
